Lutheran Social Services – San Gabriel Valley provides cases management services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Services include assessments, planning, care coordination, evaluation, and more.

Learning Rights Law Center provides advice for parents who\’s children have faced issues accessing education due to disability or discrimination. Learning Rights counsels parents and provides individualized action plans to help fix the problem.

Social Vocational Services\’ program works with clients referred to find jobs that match their personal experiences, skills, and interests. Development activities may include help with career planning, resumes, applications, interviews, and assessments.

CALIF helps individuals with disabilities develop skills and knowledge in interviewing, hiring, and managing personal assistants, interpreters, readers, and drivers. CALIF also has a registry of personal care attendants with training by the Personal Assistance Services Council.

Quantum Housing Corporation (QHC) provides assistance with accessing community living options and supportive services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently in safe, decent, and affordable housing.

Bet Tzedek offers free specialized programs and services for adults with disabilities and their families on issues including conservatorship, public benefits, and planning for the future.

The Adult Development Center (ADC) provides basic life skills training to adults with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities such socialization skills, special education, and motor development.

Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center\’s Early Start Program helps to create an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for children ages 0-3 with developmental disabilities. The plan can include services such as assistive technology, family training, nursing services, nutrition services, social work services and much more.

Montebello Adult Community School offers free classes for adults with disabilities on topics such as reading, writing, time management, money, sign language, computers, math, arts and crafts, and social skills.

Veterans Legal Institute helps veterans, active duty service members, and reservists who have disabilities, medical conditions, or injuries incurred or made worse during military service by determining and applying for the benefits they are entitled to.

The Linkages program provides support in daily and crucial living activities for those who have mental health issues that prevent them from living independently. Care management, assessments, advocacy and referral to other services are provided.

The Dial-A-Cab (DAC) program complements the Dial-A-Van program. Service is available 7 days a week 24 hours a day to and from any point within the City and to and from certain satellite points (medical facilities) outside the City. Reservations can be made on the same day of service.

DCRC helps individuals find affordable, accessible housing in DCRC’s service area.

AbilityFirst\’s after-school and summer programs provide social and recreational activities for children and youth with disabilities. Participants can learn basic life skills, communication and language skills development, socialization, and more.

CAPC, Inc. provides case management services to adults 18 years and older. They assist individuals in developing support systems within their communities.

The Seating Center provides evaluations and recommendations for wheelchairs and related equipment to improve comfort and usability in sitting or moving around. Services include cushion, wheelchair, and scooter, and sitting posture evaluations.

YMCA of Greater Whittier offers an aquatics program for infants, children, and adults with disabilities. The program consists of a swim team and swimming lessons that teach children how to swim safely, no matter their swimming skills or abilities.

County-Wide Benefits Entitlements Services (CBEST) program helps qualified homeless individuals or Veterans with mental and physical health issues apply for disability programs including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI), Veterans Benefits for all former or active military, and housing benefits.

Communities Actively Living Independent and Free (CALIF) offers assistance for individuals with disabilities with applications for Section 8 housing, in addition to providing information and referrals to affordable housing programs in Los Angeles.

Access provides ADA complementary, curb-to-curb, paratransit service for functionally disabled individuals. Personal Care Attendants may ride with the qualified rider for free.
