Alma Family Services\’ Socialization Training Program teaches students with developmental disabilities social skills. The class focuses on the positive social development of each student. Ages 5 – 21.

Early Start Program provides assessments and early intervention services for children and adults with qualifying disabilities and connects them to services they need to live the highest quality life possible in their communities. SCLARC serves individuals with an eligible developmental disability including Autism, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy or Cerebral Palsy.

The Disability Support Program has social workers who help individuals with disabilities negotiate medical bills, arrange for home care and facilitate referrals to community resources, coordinate private and public unemployment services, state disability, and connect clients to housing, transportation, income support, medical and other specialized services.

Exceptional Children\’s Foundation offers developmental services for adults with moderate to profound developmental disabilities, including intellectual disability, Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury. Adults will learn about personal grooming, physical fitness, cooking, crafts activities, using public transportation, and more, all with respect for each individual’s ability level.

Harbor Regional Center provides life-long service coordination to qualified infants with developmental disabilities. Harbor Regional Centers will assess infants with qualifying disabilities and connect them to the services they need.

The Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) provides support to unpaid caregivers caring for elderly relatives or younger family members. Services include information and referrals, case management, counseling, support groups, respite care, and more.

AbilityFirst provides career services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Services include job search assistance, resume and cover letter training, application and assessment help, interview skill preparation, and job coaching.

AbilityFirst\’s College to Career program provides support and college preparation assistance to young adults with developmental disabilities. The program prepares students for independent living and employment and includes skills development.

TASK\’s TECH Connection program is an after-school group that helps transition-aged youth and young adults with disabilities better prepare themselves for the transition from school to work, college, and/or independent living.

Dial-A-Ride is a shared, curb-to-curb transportation service provided for residents who live in Pasadena, San Marino, Altadena, and the other unincorporated Los Angeles County areas in the program\’s service area (i.e., Chapman Woods, Kinneloa area, and the unincorporated area of the City of San Gabriel).

The Deaf Affordable Housing Corporation (DAHC) is a program operated at GLAD under Section 8 of the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department that provides 14 apartments for income-eligible senior citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing.

SEEK provides services children and adults with deficits in functional skills such as: feeding, toileting, communication, socializing, health and safety, stress, puberty and adulthood development, and emotional issues. Programs train parents and primary caretakers to promote these skills so that the client becomes more independent and has a higher quality of life.

InClusion Services provides adaptive skills training for individuals with developmental disabilities. The program focuses on how to access public resources, college preparation, communication, home safety, self-help skills, and more.

Latino Diabetes Association partners with pharmacies that provide free glucose meters for participants in their programs.

Dial-A-Lift provides transportation services to adults with a permanent mobility impairment who live within the city limits of Long Beach, Lakewood, Signal Hill, and Paramount.

Free to Be Programs provides services to adults with developmental disabilities in support homes in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Bet Tzedek offers free legal services for child guardians and conservators. The purpose is to help keep children with their families, or help individuals with disabilities avoid institutionalization.

The Linkages Program provides case management that links individuals with services to help maintain and promote independent living. The goal of the program is to prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization of at risk individuals.

The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program provides services for income-eligible elderly individuals or individuals with a disability, including children. Services include housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services, accompaniment to medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired.

Disabled Resource Center of Long Beach offers workshops on self-advocacy and benefits for people with disabilities. Topics include SSI, SSDI, Medi-Cal, Medicare, food stamps, and more.
