Work Incentives Planners (WIPs) are available throughout DOR’s offices statewide to provide intensive, individualized one-on-one WIP Services to help current recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) understand how their social security benefits will be affected if they return to work.

Adult Day Health Care is available to Veterans for social activities, peer support, and recreation. Can be a half day or full day program. Services may vary by location and may include assistance with transportation to and from a Health Care center.

The Supported Employment Program provides activities and services, including ongoing support services, needed to support and maintain an individual with a significant disability including youth with significant disabilities, in an integrated employment setting for the term of employment.

ACLU of Southern California offers legal help with cases that affect the civil rights or civil liberties. Examples of issues include voting rights, discrimination for disability, sex or sexual orientation, race, religion or workers\’ rights.

Enroll in a home-based developmental program for children with developmental disabilities

Home-based services provide early childhood education in conjunction with parent education via a home visiting service delivery model. Based on an assessment of each family’s needs, strengths, and challenges, an individualized service plan is developed to identify the appropriate activities and support that will be most helpful for the child’s healthy development. Home visits can occur on a weekly or monthly basis depending on each family’s needs.

West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation provides affordable housing for income-eligible individuals and families in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Glendale. Housing is also available for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Get free business clothes for job seekers

Clothes the Deal\’s Business Clothes Program provides job seekers with high quality new and recycled men\’s and women\’s professional attire. This includes specific programs for formerly incarcerated and disabled individuals seeking clothing for a job.

Enroll in a vocational training program

The Vocational Training Program benefits students with mild to moderate disabilities in the Long Beach Unified School District Adult Community Transition program. Students gain valuable and transferrable skills for their future employment.
