Clients are typically referred by the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) GAIN Program.

The Maintenance Assistance for Homeowners (MASH) program provides services to income-eligible senior or disabled homeowners who are not able to do maintenance on their homes. The program provides exterior painting, trim work, and minor repairs; weeding, code violation problems such as broken glass or screens, rat-proofing, and installation of wheelchair ramps.

City of Santa Clarita Handyworker Program helps residents apply for grants to pay for repairs to their homes. The financial assistance can be used towards repairing roofs, exterior painting, dry rot repair, electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning repairs (except window air conditioners), modifications for disabled access, and flooring/tile/wall/window/door repairs.

Crystal Stairs, Inc. helps parents receive subsidized child care through CalWORKs. Care is available for children through age 12, and exceptional needs and severely disabled children up to age 21.

The City of Gardena sponsors an Alzheimer\’s Day Care Resource Center at St. John Lutheran Church. The Center\’s goal is to improve the quality of life of older persons who are socially isolated because of physical disability or memory loss, and to keep them out of convalescent homes. The Center is currently closed.

Casa Colina Hospital provides treatment and rehabilitation for children and adults with brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, back and pain disorders, orthopedic problems, chronic pulmonary disease, neurological and neuromuscular disorders, and other disabling conditions.

LACRC\’s Confidence Program is a virtual education program that addresses financial hardship among Latino Families who provide care to a relative or friend living with dementia. The program in English and Spanish can be accessed online or by telephone.
