LACOE offers a list of Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPA) for parent\’s needs and operates its own SELPA to serve students with disabilities in its Juvenile Court Schools and Alternative Education programs.

Bethany Manor Foundation, Inc. provides a developmental learning program for children with developmental delays or disabilities. The program provides support to help children develop important skills to function in school and other social settings.

ACTION Food Pantry provides food assistance to income eligible individuals, seniors, individuals living with disability, unemployed or homeless individuals, and single parents.

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund offers funds for musicians and music industry workers (artist managers, tour managers, booking agents, producers, recording engineers, publicists, etc.) who are struggling due to illness, disability, or age-related problems.

WISE & Healthy Aging\’s Adult Day Service Center offers activities for adults with Alzheimer\’s so that caregivers can go to work, do other tasks, or take a much needed break. They also offer support groups and educational seminars for caregivers.

Bixby Knolls Towers offers skilled nursing care for seniors in the Healthcare Center. Nurses may be specialized in providing care related to diabetes management, dietary programs, foot care, pain management, wound care and offsite dialysis.

SCIL offers free money management classes which include help with budgeting and prioritizing spending, as well as developing social skills.

Desert Haven\’s Employment Skills Training program provides individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn work skills in a variety of paid, on-the-job training experiences, as well as volunteer opportunities.

The Keep Moving Forward (KMF) Grant helps individuals get necessary adaptive equipment for activities of daily living, make home modifications for wheelchair accessibility, and maintain therapeutic activities for health and wellness.

LAUSD Carlson Home/Hospital School Instruction program offers in home or hospital instruction for students whose noncontagious temporary medical disability prevents attendance in class for a limited period of time. The program aims to maintain continuity of the student’s schooling during the interim period of disability.

Home delivered meals are available for homebound qualifying Norwalk Seniors age 60 and older and to physically disabled residents, regardless of age.

Bethany Manor Foundation, Inc. offers the Kidz \’R Kidz program which provides cognitive developmental therapy in a group setting for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years with developmental delays or disabilities.

Wise & Healthy Aging\’s Transportation and Mobility Services offers curb to curb van transportation at low cost for seniors and people with disabilities who live in Santa Monica. Services can be used to go to doctor appointments, attend a class, and attend recreational activities.
